This Week
in Gwinnett.

Hey neighbor,

Quick heads up before we dive in — I'm hopping on a plane to Africa later this week for work, and I'll be gone for the next two weeks. The newsletter is still landing in your inbox while I'm gone, but if I'm a little slower replying to emails or DMs, now you know why.

Like I mentioned last time, everything we do here is still funded out of my own pocket. If this little weekly note adds something to your life and you want to keep it going, you're more than welcome to buy me a coffee =). Every single one means a lot.

Now — let's get into the good stuff happening in Gwinnett this week. 👇

THIS WEEK IN GWINNETT

🎨 Duluth Spring Arts Festival

Sat May 16, 10 AM–5 PM | Sun May 17, 11 AM–5 PM | Downtown Duluth | FREE

The big one this weekend. 80+ painters, photographers, sculptors, jewelers, metalworkers, and glass artists on the Town Green — plus food, live music, and a square full of families wandering, sipping coffee, and finding art they actually want to take home. Dogs welcome.

🏷️ Great for: Date Night | Family Outings | Free

🛒 Suwanee Farmers Market

Saturday, May 16 | 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM | Town Center Park, Suwanee | FREE

One of my favorite Saturday rituals in all of Gwinnett. The 2026 season is now in full swing — local growers, fresh flowers, bread, honey, breakfast burritos, kids running around the fountain. Get there by 9 if you want first pick on the good stuff.

🏷️ Great for: Family Outings | Seniors | Free

🛍️ Norcross Community Market — Now Open for the Season

The market is back. Wednesdays 4–7 PM at Thrasher Park (live music, kids' activities) and Saturdays 9 AM–1 PM at Lillian Webb Park. Fresh flowers, local honey, sourdough, kettle corn. Bring cash and an appetite.

🏷️ Great for: Family Outings | Seniors | Free

💛 GUS'S HIDDEN GEM

Every week I find one place in Gwinnett that deserves more love. This week it's…

From Warm Waves Coffee Site

☕ Warm Waves Coffee Roasters — Suwanee

500 Buford Hwy, Suwanee, GA 30024

If you haven't been to Warm Waves yet, change that this week. They roast their own beans, partner with Rishi Tea and Saint Germain Bakery for the pastry case, and the space itself is bright, modern, and built for both deep work and a slow Saturday morning. The seasonal drinks are actually thoughtful — not just a syrup swap.

Order the iced Irish cream latte or the strawberry matcha and grab a seat by the window. Family-owned, locally-roasted, and quietly one of the best coffee experiences in our county.

Hours: Mon–Fri 7 AM – 4 PM | Sat–Sun 8 AM – 4 PM

BUDGET-FRIENDLY EATS IN GWINNETT

A spot where you can eat well, eat fast, and not blow your week's budget.

🥟 Baozi Asian Street Food — Lawrenceville

248 E Crogan St, Suite 4, Lawrenceville, GA 30046

Tucked right into downtown Lawrenceville, Baozi is doing Chinese and Taiwanese street food right — steamed bao buns stuffed with bulgogi and pork belly, fried rice, Korean corn cheese, rice cakes, and bubble tea. Big flavor, generous portions, and most plates come in well under $15.

Walk the Lawrenceville square, grab a couple of bao to share, and you've got yourself a date night or a family dinner that won't wreck the budget.

Hours: Tue–Thu 10:30 AM – 3 PM, 4 – 9 PM | Fri 10:30 AM – 3 PM, 4 – 9:30 PM | Sat–Sun 12 – 9 PM | Closed Mon

UNTIL NEXT TIME

Before I take off — keep your eyes peeled. I've got a brand new episode dropping soon on the This is Gwinnett YouTube channel featuring a local certified beekeeper who makes and sells creamed honey right here in the county. It's one of my favorite conversations we've recorded all year, and I can't wait for you to meet him.

Hit subscribe so you don't miss it the moment it goes live. (And if you've never tried creamed honey — trust me, you want to.)

I'll be writing to you next from a different time zone. Take care of Gwinnett while I'm gone. 🙏

Thanks for being here. Gwinnett is better because you're in it.
