This Week
in Gwinnett.

Hey neighbor —
Hope you're doing well today. And if you're new here, welcome! I'm so happy you've joined us at GwinnettBest.
In most Hispanic families, we have a special name for grandma: Abuelita.
Yesterday would have been my Abuelita's birthday. She passed away last year, so I spent the day celebrating her life with both tears and joy on my car rides alone and my walk in the morning.
And it got me thinking about something.
Losing someone you love is never easy. The tears are real. The pain is real. But when you've loved someone deeply, the memories and moments you shared are things you'll never regret.
And I think the same goes for friendships.
The people you make time for. The relationships you invest in. The moments when you step outside your comfort zone and get to know someone beyond the surface.
Those are the things that matter.
So here's my encouragement for you this morning: Be intentional with the people already in your life. Make time for them. Tell them you love them.
And don't be afraid to make new friends, either. You never know what kind of beautiful relationship might be waiting on the other side of a simple hello.
Hope you have a great day today, neighbor.
Let's get into it!
TABLE TALK
Tuesday I told you Dinner Club is coming to Suwanee on Oct. 21. And I know what some of you are thinking:
"I'd go… but what would I even talk about?"
I get it. So here's something new. Screenshot it, save it, or bring it to dinner. These are 5 questions that turn strangers into friends, and none of them is "So, what do you do?"
"What's your favorite spot in Gwinnett that nobody talks about?" Everybody has one, and now you have a new place to try.
"What brought you to Gwinnett?" You'll hear about job moves, family, and big leaps of faith. Every answer is a story.
"What's something you're excited about right now?" This gets people talking about what they love instead of what they do.
"What's the best meal you've ever had?" You're at dinner, after all. Watch their face light up.
"Who's someone who changed your life?" Save this one for dessert. It's where real friendships start.
The one rule: ask a follow-up before you share your own answer. Being interested matters more than being interesting.
Try one at Dinner Club, at the ball-field this weekend, or tonight at your own kitchen table. Then hit reply and tell me which one worked.

UNTIL NEXT TIME
Here's your homework this weekend. Pick one question from Table Talk and ask it to someone you think you already know. A neighbor, your spouse, the barista. You'll be surprised what you learn.
Friendship isn't something that happens to us. It's something we build, one question at a time.
Thanks for being here. Gwinnett is better because you're in it.
— Gus
