FOR THE COUPLES
SPLURGE-WORTHY DATE NIGHT
Frankie's The Steakhouse (Duluth) If you're going all out this Valentine's Day, Frankie's is the move. Gwinnett's newest and finest steakhouse sits on the third floor of 6500 Sugarloaf Parkway, offering upscale traditional steakhouse dishes with a distinctive Italian twist. The views, the vibe, the food — it's an experience.

Cuts Steakhouse (Duluth) For a Southern-style upscale experience, Cuts delivers. Think succulent steaks, fresh seafood, a raw bar, craft cocktails, and a reserve wine list — all with live music in the lounge area. Chef Michael Walters runs an open kitchen, and the cozy patio is perfect if you want something a little more intimate.

AFFORDABLE DATE NIGHT (No Reservations Needed!)
Not every great date needs a $200 bill. These spots are perfect for keeping it casual, delicious, and stress-free:
Good Word Brewing & Public House (Duluth) If you're into the brewery scene, this is your spot. Great craft beers brewed in-house, a laid-back vibe, and solid food — the burger is highly recommended. No reservations, no fuss, just good times.

FOR THE GIRLS: GALENTINE'S EDITION
Who says Valentine's weekend is just for couples? Grab your girls and celebrate friendship with these two Gwinnett gems:
Painting with a Twist (Suwanee) The classic Galentine's move — and for good reason. Bring your favorite wine, follow along with a guided painting session, and leave with a masterpiece (and great memories). They're running Valentine's-themed events all weekend, so check their calendar and book your crew a spot.

The Catfe Co (Lilburn) Okay, this one is different — in the best way. The Catfe is Georgia's first cat cafe, where you can sip on espresso, wine, or their signature "Cat Tails" cocktails while hanging out with resident kitties. They also serve homemade pies, charcuterie boards, and sandwiches.
It's cozy, it's quirky, and it's the perfect Galentine's vibe. (Note: The cats are NOT adoptable — they're permanent residents. And yes, there's a library and free Wi-Fi.)

NEW COFFEE SHOPS TO TRY
Two locally-owned Gwinnett coffee spots we haven't featured yet — both open for your morning ritual or afternoon pick-me-up:
Sunflour Dessert & Coffee (Lawrenceville) This family-owned gem is tucked across from Discover Mills on Duluth Highway, and the desserts are the star. Fresh-baked croffles (made to order!), moist carrot cake, cream cheese castella, and red velvet slices — plus excellent cold brew and specialty drinks. The vibe is soft, quiet, and perfect for studying or catching up with a friend. Rated 4.7 stars with rave reviews.

Beans and Butter Coffeehouse (Lawrenceville) Established in 2016 by Lilburn residents who wanted a downtown-feeling coffeehouse, Beans and Butter has become a neighborhood favorite — voted Best of Gwinnett 2017. They specialize in Italian espresso-style drinks, fresh-baked goods (including gluten-free options), and locally sourced teas. The ham and cheese croissant? Legendary.
One reviewer said it best: "They released me from the invisible shackles of Starbucks. I haven't turned back since!"
