Trickum Middle School Car Show

The Trickum Middle School Car Show is Saturday, April 18 — now in its 5th year and every dollar raised goes to Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society. It's 100% free to attend, with show cars, vendors, food, live music, and trophies.

Here's how to get involved:

  • Sponsor — Download the sponsor packet for details.

  • Vendor — Set up a booth and sell to a happy crowd.

  • Show Car — Enter for just $20, compete for trophies, and get raffle tickets the length of your car.

Fun fact: A lot of raffle winners end up donating their prizes right back to Relay for Life. That's Gwinnett right there.Trickum Middle School Car Show

Family Outings (Senior Friendly)

Suwanee Arts Festival

Saturday, April 11 | 10 AM – 6 PM & Sunday, April 12 | 12 – 5 PM | Town Center Park

A two-day outdoor celebration featuring 100+ artists selling paintings, ceramics, photography, sculpture, jewelry, glass, and fiber art. Enjoy live artist demos, entertainment on the Town Center stage, a Kids' Zone with make-and-take projects, an author's tent with book signings, and international cuisine. A headliner concert kicks off Saturday at 5 PM! Free and fun for all ages.

Sims Lake Park

4600 Suwanee Dam Road | Open daily

62 acres with a 1.2-mile looping trail, a scenic 7-acre lake with dock, covered playground, picnic tables, outdoor classroom, and public restrooms. Great for a relaxed family walk or a peaceful morning stroll.

Suwanee Creek Park

1170 Buford Highway | Open daily

85 acres of largely preserved natural land. Home to the 4-mile Suwanee Creek Greenway — a hard-surface trail through wooded areas, wetlands, and wildlife habitat. Also features an 18-hole disc golf course, a 1-mile orienteering course, nature trails, pavilions, and picnic tables.

🚶 Morning Walk at Sims Lake Park

4600 Suwanee Dam Road | Open daily

The paved 1.2-mile trail around the lake is flat, scenic, and very manageable. Benches and the covered dock offer resting spots along the way. A perfect start to the day.

The Lawrenceville Boogie

Saturday, April 11 | 3 – 9 PM | Downtown Lawrenceville Square | FREE

THE event of the spring! A massive free multi-stage festival with live music across genres, a classic and custom car show, artisan vendor booths, and a Jazz in the Alley stage. Fun for every age — kids love the atmosphere and live music while car enthusiasts and music lovers have a blast. Free shuttle service provided. Proceeds from the car show benefit Beyond the Ribbon, supporting local families impacted by cancer.

'How I See Her' Art Exhibition

Through April 21 | Mary Kistner Gallery, Lawrenceville Arts Center | FREE

A free art exhibition featuring works by Alda Alarcon, Isabella Martino, and Juleah Everglade. Thoughtful, expressive pieces celebrating creativity and interpretation in an inclusive setting. Gallery hours: Tue–Fri 11 AM–5 PM, Sat 12–5 PM.

🚶 Rhodes Jordan Park

162 acres featuring a 1.9-mile paved trail, fishing lake, playgrounds, aquatic center with lazy river, tennis and pickleball courts, a community garden, and outdoor classroom. One of Lawrenceville's crown jewels for families and walkers alike.

Lawrenceville Lawn & Historic Courthouse Trail

185 W Crogan Street | Downtown Square

A beloved open green space in the heart of downtown, perfect for picnics and play. Connected to the Rhodes Jordan Connection Trail — a multi-use path linking downtown to the broader park and greenway network. The 1885 Gwinnett Historic Courthouse with its four-story clocktower makes a stunning backdrop.

🎷 Music on the Square — Jazz Night

Friday, April 10 | 7 – 9:30 PM | Gwinnett Historic Courthouse, 185 W Crogan St
