🇺🇸 25 years later: Gwinnett's 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony

Gwinnett Fallen Heroes Memorial, Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center, 75 Langley Drive, Lawrenceville

Twenty-five years. The county gathers at the memorial to honor the lives lost and the first responders who ran toward it. Commissioner Jasper Watkins III is giving the keynote — he was at the Pentagon that day, helping move the wounded. All are welcome.

If mornings don't work, Suwanee holds its own 9/11 memorial event that evening at 6:00 PM.

Whichever one you make, bring your kids. There's a whole generation in Gwinnett who only know this day from a textbook.

Public Safety Fall Festival

Saturday, September 12 · 11:00 AM–3:00 PM · FREE
Gwinnett Field, 2500 Buford Drive, Lawrenceville

Touch-a-truck with actual fire trucks and SWAT vehicles, plus demos, food and giveaways from the same first responders you'll have just honored on Friday. Free admission, whole county invited.

Off The Rails: Duluth's Big 150

Downtown Duluth, 3142 Hill St NW

Duluth turns 150 and the whole downtown goes up. Free carnival games, face painting, caricatures and a history display from 2–6, food trucks until 10, and two big stages at night — The Smithereens at 6:30, Grand Funk Railroad at 8:30.

This is the biggest free thing happening in the county this month. Get there before 6 if you want parking.

Atlanta British Car Fayre

Downtown historic Norcross, Jones Street & South Peachtree Street

25th year of this one. Hundreds of British cars and motorcycles parked along the streets downtown, Jaguar as the featured marque, live bands and a bagpipe corps. You don't have to know anything about cars to enjoy it — it's a beautiful morning walk downtown that happens to be full of Jaguars.
