Hey neighbor,
I'll be honest —Friday afternoon, my living room looked like a tiny World Cup stadium. My boys, a couple of their friends, snacks everywhere, everybody yelling at the TV like the players could hear us. And right there on the couch, wrapped in a blanket, was my son who's been fighting off some kind of bug this week (your guess is as good as mine). He wasn't going anywhere — but he wasn't missing the USA game either.
There's something about all of us in that day, on our own couch (or in the next room playing video games), cheering for the same team. It didn't matter who felt great and who felt rough. We were in it together, proud to be Americans, proud to be cheering our guys on.
That's the magic of this World Cup. You don't have to go far to feel it. Sometimes the best seat in the house is your own.
So this week, gather your people. Bring a flag. Bring the kids. Especially as we get ready to get into the Fourth of July weekend
Let's go. 🇺🇸

🍺 FOR THE GROWN-UPS
(Date Night or Friends Night out)

Need a night out without the kids in tow? Norcross's Social Fox Brewing & Distillery (20 Skin Alley) has your week covered — craft beer, spirits, and good company. Three to know:
🎙️ Last Podcast on the Left Watch Night — Tue 6/23, 9 PM. Fans of the cult comedy-horror podcast gather to watch together. Dark humor, cold drinks, your kind of people.
🧠 Trivia Night — Wed 6/24, 7 PM. Round up a team, name it something ridiculous, and go win bragging rights (and maybe a tab discount).
🍻 Friday Night Flights — Fri 6/26, 4 PM. Kick off the weekend with a flight and let the distillery do the rest.
Heads up: these are brewery/distillery nights — best for the 21-and-up crowd. (See all Social Fox events →)
Every week I find one place in Gwinnett that deserves more love.
Kafeiin — Duluth
3865 Venture Drive, Suite A, Duluth, GA 30096
Daily: 11am–9pm
My wife and a friend of ours visiting from LA, went early January and LOVED the Matcha drink! Check out the photos she took
This is one of the latest additions to Duluth's coffee scene, having just opened in December 2025. Kafeiin is a modern Vietnamese-inspired coffee and dessert shop with a minimalist, aesthetic vibe that's perfect for studying, working, or just relaxing with a great drink.
The menu features Vietnamese coffee with a variety of flavored milk foams including matcha, sesame, egg, and banana. They also serve matcha lattes with different milk foams, which can be ordered as a latte or with coconut water. Popular drinks include the Salted Cloud Coffee, Strawberry Cloud Matcha, Ube Cloud Matcha, and Sesame Cloud Matcha.
The space is clean, modern, and has that Instagram-worthy aesthetic that makes you want to linger. And yes, the lines have been out the door since they opened because word travels fast when something this good opens up.
Pro tip: The drinks lean on the sweeter side, so if you prefer less sweet, just know that going in. The quality is exceptional and the presentation is beautiful.

💬 ONE PERSON. ONE STORY.
Meet Coach Len Boudreaux — and get ready to feel proud.
Len Boudreaux is a special education teacher at Oakland Meadow School and the head coach of the Gwinnett HEAT, an adaptive sports program for students with physical disabilities. This year, he was named Adapted/Allied/Unified Varsity Sports Coach of the Year by the Georgia High School Association and the American Association of Adapted Sports Programs.
Think about what that means. While the rest of us were watching the highlight reels, Coach Len was showing up every day for kids the world too often overlooks — teaching them they belong on the court, that they're athletes, that they matter. He didn't just win a title for himself. He won it for every kid who's ever been told "you can't."
This is who we are, Gwinnett. We don't just produce champions. We produce people who lift others up. Coach Len, we see you — and we're proud. 🙌
⚡ QUICK HITS
Fast, fun, and worth knowing:
🎓 14,802 reasons to be proud. Gwinnett's Class of 2026 just walked the stage — and they've already been offered more than $302.6 million in scholarships, including nearly $124M for academics. Nearly 5,000 of them graduated as Honor Grads (90+ GPA). Our kids are going places. (See the numbers →)
⚽ Why so many watch parties? Atlanta is an official 2026 FIFA World Cup host city, and Gwinnett is hosting four signature "Kick It in the Nnett" watch parties across the tournament (Suwanee 6/27, Peachtree Corners 7/7, Norcross 7/15). We're not just near the action — we ARE the action. (Where to watch →)
🍑 Brunch tip: Craving a slow Sunday plate? The Local Peach in Norcross (125 Lawrenceville St NW) is a family-friendly brunch gem — think biscuit sandwiches, garden omelettes, and French toast that's borderline dessert. (Peek the menu →)
🦕 Parent hack: The free library dinosaurs (Tue–Thu) are the perfect "we did something fun AND free today" outing. Hit the branch nearest you and beat the summer heat indoors.
😂 Local truth of the week: There is no greater Gwinnett flex than knowing which gas station has the good boiled peanuts. You know the one. Don't tell everybody.
UNTIL NEXT TIME
The world picked Atlanta for the World Cup. But the cookouts, the watch parties, the kids high-fiving strangers in a parking lot? That's Gwinnett doing what Gwinnett does best — turning a moment into a memory.
Go make one this week.
Let's build community on purpose. Gwinnett is ours. Make the most of it this week. —
