Happy Tuesday — and Happy Three Kings Day!

If you're not familiar with Día de los Reyes, it's a big celebration in many Latin American cultures marking the end of the Christmas season. And lucky for us, Gwinnett has a pretty awesome way to experience it today.

Let's get into it.

📅 2 THINGS ON MY RADAR THIS WEEK

1. Three Kings Day Celebration at Plaza Las Americas 📍 733 Pleasant Hill Rd, Lilburn 🗓️ TODAY — Tuesday, January 6

This is happening RIGHT NOW if you're reading this early enough. Plaza Las Americas hosts a FREE Three Kings Day celebration with live music, traditional entertainment, kids' activities, and the chance to try Rosca de Reyes — a sweet bread with a tiny baby Jesus figurine hidden inside. Whoever finds it hosts the next party! It's a beautiful way to experience Gwinnett's rich cultural diversity. If you can swing by, it's worth it.

2. Atlanta Beadshow — This Weekend! 📍 Gwinnett County Fairgrounds, 2405 Sugarloaf Pkwy, Lawrenceville 🗓️ Saturday & Sunday, January 10-11 Sat: 10am-5pm | Sun: 10am-4pm 💵 $5 admission (parking additional)

If you're into jewelry-making, crafts, or just like browsing cool handmade stuff — this is your event. The Intergalactic Bead Shows bring together 80+ vendors selling beads, gemstones, crystals, freshwater pearls, finished jewelry, and unique findings you won't find anywhere else. Great for crafters, gift-hunters, or anyone who appreciates handmade artistry. FREE and open to the public for browsing, $5 for purchasing.

💡 A RESOURCE EVERY GWINNETT RESIDENT SHOULD KNOW

OneStop 4 Help — Your Connection to Community Resources

Here's something I want every neighbor to have saved in their phone:

📞 770-822-8850

That's the number for Gwinnett's OneStop 4 Help program — a free service that connects residents with help for food, housing, utilities, healthcare, transportation, and more.

Here's how it works: You call (or email [email protected]), a real person called a "community navigator" does a quick assessment of your situation, and then they connect you directly with the nonprofits and organizations that can help — whether it's rental assistance, food pantries, mental health resources, or something else entirely.

Why this matters: When you're going through a tough time, the last thing you need is to figure out which of the 50 different organizations can actually help you. This one call connects you to the right people.

You can also visit in person at one of the Gwinnett Community Resource Centers in Buford, Centerville, or Norcross (a new Grayson location opening later this year).

Even if you don't need it right now — save that number. You might know someone who does.

🌟 ONE SIMPLE IDEA

January is a great time to try something new. But here's the thing — you don't have to start a whole new hobby or routine.

Just go somewhere different this week.

A coffee shop on the other side of the county. A trail you've never walked. A restaurant in a neighborhood you don't usually visit.

That's it. No pressure. Just a little exploring in your own backyard.

💬 YOUR TURN

Have you ever been to Three Kings Day celebration? Or found a hidden gem at a craft show?

Hit reply and tell me about it — I love hearing what neighbors are discovering around Gwinnett.

Here's to a great rest of your week, neighbor.
